A practical Spanish practice order
Start with present tense forms so you can make basic sentences. Then add preterite for completed actions and imperfect for repeated or background actions.
| Step | What to practice | Example |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Present tense | yo tengo, tú eres, ella va |
| 2 | Preterite | fui, tuve, hice, dije |
| 3 | Imperfect | era, estaba, tenía, iba |
Tip: practice ser and estar every day for a week. They are short, irregular and everywhere.
